Hawaii Picture2
Hawaii trip
We spent out first night on Ford Island at Pearl Harbor. A convertible is a must to enjoy the great Hawaii weather.
A memorial was constucted over the top of the sunken USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor. Dec, 1941, the battleships at Pearl Harbor were all tighly packed together and lined up in a row; making them easier to depend from a submarine attack. However, it make them easy targest from the air. Over 2200 people were killed that day, with 1177 of those causulties occuring on the USS Arizona. The ship is the final resting place of 1102 sailors, who remain entombed inside.

We spent two nights at a beach cabin on Bellows Air Force station. This is a view from out back porch. The white-sandy beach was no more than 15 feet away!
Hanannuma Bay is world famous for its snorkeling. There is a fantastic reef teaming with life. The bay is protected from open water by a narrow inlet channel, making this an excellent place to visit even during rough weather conditions.
Remember not to walk on the reef or you'll get a lecture from the local wildlife marshal. Just ask Angie.
Hawaii
We took a trip out to Goat Island. During low tide the water was pretty shallow. However, with flip-flops on, it turned out to be more difficult than we planned. The little island is a bird sanctuary, and was completly deserted.
The Polynesian Culture Center had an amazing 2 hour show highlighting dances from many different islands including Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Hawaii, and New Zealand. The Fire-Dance was pretty amazing.
And it only got better!

Just practicing my photography skills..
We spent one evening on the north-west side of the island to catch a glimps of the great Hawaiian sunsets.
A picture of Angie on the balcany at our room on Wikiki beach (at the Hale Kaho hotel). The rooms were great, the view was amazing and the price was right!
